Sport & Remedial Massage

Fix pain. Improve mobility. Live fully.

At The Massage Lab Islington, we specialise in Sport and Remedial Massage, otherwise known as Soft Tissue Therapy: a hands-on therapy based on clinical reasoning, designed to restore movement, ease pain, and keep you performing at your best.

While many people associate sport massage only with athletes, the truth is that it benefits anyone with muscle tension, aches, or soft tissue injury – from office workers with tight shoulders to new parents with back pain.

What is Sport & Remedial Massage

Sport massage combines classic massage techniques with deep tissue work, stretching, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release and connective tissue techniques to restore the health of your body’s soft tissues. By targeting the root cause of tension or pain, it can reduce the need for painkillers and help you get moving again – not just temporarily, but long term.

Remedial massage means using manual therapy techniques to remedy a soft tissue problem. This isn’t just about easing symptoms, it’s about understanding how the issue started, treating the immediate discomfort, and giving you the tools to help prevent it from coming back.

The two go hand in hand and we use them interchangeably with Soft Tissue Therapy or Clinical Massage Therapy.

Who is it for?

Sport & remedial massage is not the passive, tranquil treatment you’d find at a spa. It’s targeted, intelligent therapy that supports your injury recoverymobility, and performance.

This modality is for you if you experience:

Lukasz is an excellent and extremely knowledgeable sports therapist who also has a backgrounds in physiotherapy. It was the perfect combination for my issue. He performed a thorough deep tissue massage and advised me of what to do if there were further complications within a few days. I strongly recommend Lukasz because he's grounded and has no pretentiousness about him, which is very refreshing to find in London.

I have been seeing Biliana now for a number of years for a massage, in particular this time around was having some back issues for her to deal with. The massage was painful in parts but I knew that this would only be beneficial at the end, really felt the issue was addressed & also some exercises were recommended.Always feel the massage is good for my skin also having had eczema from an early age. Thank you Biliana.
